Three intense days- 14th, 15th and 16th of October- were needed to sell some of the items of FORUM. Thirty thousand articles were put on sale in what has been seen as the largest auction undertaken in Spain.
The organization was in the hands of the company Ferbosa-Industriactiva, while the co-ordination of the professionals working in the three halls was undertaken by the expert Angel Torres.
These culturally significant items had been on display for four days to ensure that all interested buyers might view them beforehand.
The auction, intended for companies as well as individuals, was held in sessions of over ten hours daily during which individual and combined lots were sold to ensure public access to every type of article.
The items on sale were, the majority, in "almost-new" condition and were sold at prices much below that which might be expected on the second-hand market. The auction closed with 83% of the lots sold, a total of ten thousand people attending- with another three thousand five hundred visiting by internet. There was also great interest demonstrated by all sections of the media.
While this was taking place, Gil Stauffer was present with a stand situated in the administration offices as the company chosen to undertake the transportation of the articles when the buyers did not have their own means of moving the merchandise.
