2004 has been very fruitful with respect to the expansion and consolidation of its sites both nationally and internationally. Increased group sales, recent company agreements, new projects, new active members, recently launched international branches, modern warehousing, modernisation of assests and vehicles, are all aspects with which Gil Stauffer will start its centenary year.
On the international side, the most outstanding development has been the creation of new branches in strategic capitals within the European panorama. These follow in the wake of the decision to open offices in Paris some years ago. In the photos signing of the agreement with Bertil Durieux to formalize the working of the Gil Stauffer offices in Belgium may be seen.
Similarly we have witnessed the creation of a branch in the United Kingdom with the installation of modern warehousing and offices in London.
Both initiatives have been a response to constantly increasing European commerce, as can also be seen in the growth experienced by the international terminal of Madrid whose check-in volume has experienced a growth of nearly fourteen percent with respect to the previous year.
On the other hand, on a national level what has been outstanding has been the growth of the client base of some branches which, such as Málaga, have had to greatly increase their investment by establishing new operational bases. This has been the case for the new depots inaugurated in Marbella, an area which has experienced an enormous growth.
As regards new company projects, in 2005, Gil Stauffer will introduce a new star level product to celebrate its centenary. The fact of being one hundred years in the business of home removals is a very relevant and requires special emphasis. For this reason a new range of highly specialised services have been launched which are intended to cover special needs which arise within the magical world of Fine Art. In this way, as well as using the service of transportation y safe storage, from January clients will be able to accede to expert valuations with regard to the tax-liability of their possessions; request professional studies and examinations of their antiques; have access to the services of the finest restorers to return their paintings, furniture, china and bronzes to their state of original splendour; to sell and buy antiques; and to have on hand at auctions the relevant expert in each area.
