The first championship sponsored by the Rotary Club Ciudad de Arucas has been hailed as a very important date for all gold lovers. With charitable intention, the funds raised are destined to aid in the eradication of world polio by supporting work of the PolioPlus programme of the Rotary Club International.
With the bank La Caja Rural de Canarias as chief sponsors, and numerous corporate sponsors amongst whom figured Gil Stauffer, 180 players took part in the tournament which used the stableford greensome scoring format.
