Packing during a move is of great importance.
One of the most important factors to bear in mind when moving home is the type of packaging you are going to use to protect your belongings. There are many different types of packaging that will help you avoid damage to your belongings during the move.
These are the most common:
- Cardboard boxes: Undoubtedly, this is the packaging par excellence and the most widely used, although for certain types of objects (especially delicate ones) it is not the most appropriate. There are different types of boxes, with different thicknesses. The thicker they are, the more resistant they are and the more weight they can carry. The most commonly used are double-thickness boxes, which are ideal for transporting non-delicate objects such as clothes, books, toys, toiletries, etc.
- Bubble wrapSuitable for packing fragile and delicate objects such as glassware, crockery, vases, pictures etc. They can then be placed in cardboard boxes filled with newspaper to prevent the objects from shifting and bumping into each other.
- Plastic sleevesRecommended for use to protect large pieces of furniture, especially sofas, mattresses and wooden furniture, from rubbing. Even so, care must be taken not to hit any element, as they are not provided with infallible protection.
- Pads: They are placed in the corners of the furniture to prevent damage during transport, especially to protect it from knocks against doors or floors. It is recommended to be used in combination with the plastic covers for a better protection of all furniture.
However, all objects are different and each requires a special form of packaging. A specialised company will always know best which packaging is suitable for each item.
